Seven Chances

As Jonathan entered the office, he knew that it was going to be a day like no other. He was in love with Alice, but he had yet to confess his feelings to her. The thought of rejection haunted him, but he knew that today was the day he would take the leap. However, that all changed when he received a letter from his grandfather’s lawyer, revealing that his grandfather left him a vast fortune of seven million dollars on the condition that he gets married in less than 24 hours.

Jonathan was shocked and overwhelmed, as he had no prospects for marriage. He told his best friend, William, about the situation, who convinced him that there was no other option but to find a suitable partner. The news of the fortune spread fast, making every eligible girl he knew chase after him. But none of them captured his heart, and time was running out.

As he walked around the city, avoiding hordes of women chasing after him, Jonathan stumbled upon Alice, whom he knew since childhood. He had always secretly admired her, but he never had the courage to express his feelings. He blurted out the story of his inheritance and proposed to her, hoping that she would agree. Unexpectedly, Alice refused due to a misunderstanding. She thought that he only proposed because of the money, and she did not want to be a part of his plan.

Jonathan was devastated, not only because Alice had rejected him, but because he realized how wrong his intentions were. He thought that money could buy happiness, but in fact, it was the people in his life that mattered. He wanted to make things right with Alice, but he knew it was too late as the deadline for marriage was approaching fast.

As the clock struck midnight, Jonathan was alone and dejected, feeling like he had lost everything. But then, he realized that he still had hope. He ran back to Alice’s house, determined to explain everything to her. He found her sitting on the porch, gazing at the stars, lost in thought.

Jonathan knelt before her and revealed the truth, that he only proposed because he loved her, and that money was not important anymore. Alice was touched by his words and finally understood his true intentions. She said yes, and they kissed under the stars, surrounded by the beauty of nature.

The next day, they got married in a small ceremony, with only their closest friends as witnesses. They started their married life, with seven million dollars that were more a burden than a blessing. However, they were happy together, and they knew that they would face their new challenges as a team.

Their love survived the test of money, and they never forgot that the most important thing in life was not material wealth, but the relationships they had with each other.
